Geo-Informatics
Systems.
Geo-Informatics is a
sector in which Teliacom and our partner are intensively
active, offering integrated solutions and services,
which are related to spatial resource management and
are based to state-of-the-art technologies and systems
such as GIS, RDBMS and Internet.
A major area of activity
is the development and deployment of Network Inventory
Systems (NIS). Based on spatial information, a NIS provides
the ideal platform for the documentation of the
physical structure and connectivity of the telecommunication
network, either the core transmission or the access
for the whole network life cycle (as-built, proposed,
approved, under construction).
It supports capture
and maintenance of any network's spatial layout, topological
and logical end-to-end connectivity of cables, nodal
or cross-connect equipment, and civil infrastructure,
forming thus a common resource pool to be used for both
network planning and engineering design and operations.
Furthermore, by associating
network equipment with services, the NIS is becoming
an integrated component with Operations Support Systems
(OSS) and Network Management Systems (NMS), for carrying
out provisioning and service activation processes.
Another area of involvement is integration of spatial
technologies with telematics, to support Automatic Vehicle
Location (AVL) and fleet management systems, for emergency
services (e.g. ambulance, police) or transportation.
The company is also developing solutions for service
providers, mobile operators and ISPs based on "location
sensitive" content, GIS software, Internet and
GSM networks.
Complete range of services
are offered by experienced and specialized personnel,
such as system design, implementation, installation,
deployment, operation, training, and support.
